It has been confirmed that Hollywood actor Jeremy Renner will be going to the Philippines this January 2012 to shoot the fourth installment of movie Bourne Legacy. This was confirmed by the head of Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), Briccio Santos. The screenwriter and director Tony Gilroy had chosen Manila as location for The Bourne Legacy. Gilroy said that 40% of the film will be shot in Manila.
After the successful portrayal of Matt Damon as Jason Bourne in the other three Bourne Series, it was reported that the Bourne character will not be in fourth series The Bourne Legacy. The film will not take place in a new canon; it will not be a reboot or prequel in any way, but more likely a “sidequel” or full spin-off with a new character in the mold of Bourne dealing with the ramifications of the Treadstone conspiracy.
Renner was picked from the list of other Hollywood actors including Jake Gyllenhaal, Tobey Maguire, Josh Hartnett, Garrett Hedlund, Michael Fassbender, Alex Pettyfer, Paul Dano, Taylor Kitsch, Kellan Lutz, Benjamin Walker, Oscar Isaac, Luke Evans, Michael Pitt, Chris Evans, Dominic Cooper and Joel Edgerton.
